This week, my class started our new unit on machines and forces. We will be covering simple machines, magnets and electricity. At the end of the unit, my kids will be creating a lamp and a car, and they are so excited.
We started this week with a good look at simple machines. First, we watched a great Bill Nye video on simple machines.
Then, we scoured the school in a search for simple machines. We recorded the simple machines we found in this little booklet, which you can download from Google Docs if you’d like a copy. My kids loved going through the classrooms and finding the simple machines hidden in the clocks, scissors and tape dispenser.
