Mummy Mania!!

We have been studying Ancient Egypt for weeks now, and we’ve learned tons of fun facts, including the fact that girls married before they turned 12 and that you could be sentenced to death for killing a cat.  However, the most loved fact, of course, is how mummies were made – including the pulling of the brain out of the nose!  So, today we did our culminating activities for this unit.  We did 3 activities today.

1.)  We designed our own Sarcophagus, including writing our names on them with hieroglyphs.

2.)  We designed a fool proof tomb, which we would build to keep out the tomb raiders.

3.)  We made ourselves into mummies with toilet paper.

The kids had a blast, as you can see in the pictures.  It was a great first day to the last week of school!  What do you normally do during the last week of school?
